Think WalsallThe Think Walsall team is working for you to maximise the benefits of development and procurement within Walsall.
Regeneration and DevelopmentThe team works with a range of investors, developers and contractors to encourage the use of Walsall-based businesses in their supply chains and sub-contracts as well as offering apprenticeships and job opportunities for local people. Contracting opportunities can be accessed through Meet the Buyer events held throughout the year; one such event resulted in over £2.5million worth of contracts being awarded to Walsall-based businesses.
Business and Enterprise SupportWalsall-based businesses can access a variety of support and guidance from the Think Walsall team to help develop their business; from start-up through to investment and expansion. The team works with key partners to harness opportunities and support Walsall-based businesses to access the right support at the right time. The team also supports businesses from outside of the borough looking to relocate to Walsall.
ProcurementWalsall Council spends over £200 million a year on goods, services and works. The Think Walsall team is working across the Council to ensure that Think Walsall is embedded within procurement processes and as many social, economic and environmental benefits are obtained for the borough. The team also delivers training and support to Walsall-based businesses on the procurement process and how to participate in contracting opportunities.
Meet the Team Dan CarinsRegeneration Officer - Development & Delivery
Dan’s experience of implementing an array of regeneration projects over the years gives him the background required to make a real difference within the Think Walsall team. Centred around partnership working it is Dan’s role to ensure council officers embed the use of community benefit clauses within Walsall Council’s existing policies as well as working with investors, developers and their main contractors to maximise supply chain opportunities for Walsall-based businesses.
Zoe SlatteryRegeneration Officer - Business & Enterprise Support
Zoe has extensive experience in both the public and private sector which is an advantage when offering local business advice and support. Specialising in inward investment, Zoe’s role consists of attracting and sustaining investment to the Walsall area, offering one-to-one tailored support to all Walsall businesses and managing programmes designed to stimulate enterprise in the borough.
Dev ThindRegeneration Officer - Business & Enterprise Support
Dev has a proven track record of attracting inward investment which provides him with the specialist skills needed to manage major investment and business support programmes in Walsall. As well as offering bespoke business advice and guidance to companies Dev also manages programmes to help sustain, grow and support the business population in Walsall.
Sarah AshcroftRegeneration Assistant
Sarah joined the team in September 2011. Sarah supports the team with events, communications and marketing as well as being a central point of contact for businesses and organisations.
